Events

Hello – I am Robert Patterson, the first elder. It is with deep
gratitude and praise that I accept the gracious gift the Father
and His Son, Jesus has given to me. Although I deserve
death, Jesus died for me, and now I have a second chance
for eternal life. When I really began to understand that Jesus
was willing to die forever, so that I could live forever, I
resolved by the grace of God to live for Him, all the days of my life.

I have been blessed for over 30 years, being married to
my loving wife, Patricia, (Trish). We have three grown
sons. My oldest son is a schoolteacher in Virginia.
Our middle son is an attorney, living Maryland.
My youngest son is a counselor in southern California.
Although away from home, they are in our hearts.
My wife and I like traveling, particularly cruising.
We also love getting together with family and friends.
Every day, we ask Jesus to be Lord and protector of our
families and our friends.

It is my role as lay elder, to work very closely with Pastor
Baldwin and support him in his ministry of preparing this
congregation and this community, to meet Jesus when
He returns. In supporting him, my responsibilities include
but are not limited to the role of spiritual mentor and Sabbath
worship leader. As a spiritual mentor, I seek ways to assist
our members who desire a deeper spiritual experience.  With
the Lord. As a worship leader, I invite the Holy Spirit to control
My words and thoughts, as I lead the congregation in
meaningful celebration, praise, and worship.
